its a website not a blog. The images wont be lost in the blurb. We spent 59 days in hotels this year; most of it in Kansas. Necessary and definitely not the most creative use of time. We plan on focusing on the creative side in 2012: glass, paint, ornamentation. separate and together.

Felipe the Goldfish got a deeper 30 g halfmoon tank today; now when he picks rocks off the bottom he doesnt stick out the top. he's finally swimming in the middle. we were beginnning to think he was never gonna get outta the bottom 10.

66 year accumulation in Kansas

How does one go thru a 66 year accumulation? slowly, particularly if its 94 to 106 degrees. and not easily when one lived a thousand miles away. My dad bought the farm in 1945 when he returned from WWII. In a small suitcase in the attic we found his uniform. He married in 1946, and so started the acculumation of grain tickets, fertilizer bills, our spelling tests, christmas cards, etc. In the mid or early 80's my mom started showing signs of alzhiemers. and then things got more involved and less tidy. all in all. its complicated my life. each time we're there we bring stuff back and it gets piled in my studio. and now getting ready for the final load. i wonder if i'll find my studio again.

Roof Rooster Who knows why he's down side up?

This is my story and I'm sticking to it. and thanks i had fun with this one.

Maybe? i NEED a Funky Stained Glass Roof Rooster. The legs need to be firm and sturdy. something funky; like little garden rakes. and they need to attach to a heavy zinc/brass came that wraps around the bottom half of the bird in an nontraditional manner no doubt. or rebar and rebar legs if i can find a rebar bender. no flying off the roof allowed.

According to a stained glass friend, there are no straight lines in Nature. (nature being animals,birds, etc.) so for her, i put some extra curves into this bird. perhaps the reason the tail plumes look like they are going to bite something. the tail needs to touch the head. the space between the head and tail depends on what wraps the glass edge. the same thing for the roosters comb.

if my cutting tables were uncluttered might cut it tomorrow. (no i'm still tired from our holiday trip) I'm so fascinated with the little details that I'll make a small hanging version. a rusty star washer "eye" with a red pony bead held on with a wire knot/solder ball. (also does away with the cutting and fitting of a little glass eye) some barbed wire- like rusty buttons. a shiny new nail or penny in its mouth. jump rings of course. i think the pieces are cut-able.
